Being Heard at School: Advocating for our Kids ffectively with Marcia Eckerd, PhD

Parents often struggle to be heard. Even though by law they're part of the school team, they feel marginalized. All too often, children are blamed for being themselves. Dr. Marcia Eckerd will share effective strategies for participating in school teams and more successfully meeting your child's needs.

Marcia Eckerd, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist in practice for over 30 years. She serves on the CT ASD Advisory Council and the Board of Directors of Autism Today. She's been increasingly focused on ADHD and the overlap between autism and ADHD. She's worked with school team and parents, and she's been hired by school districts to do staff training throughout her career. Marcia is a prolific writer of popular and professional articles, and her current blog on Psychology Today “Everyday Neurodiversity” has been reposted internationally. She has been featured on webinars and podcasts for many organizations, including the National Register Of Health Care Providers, Exceptional Needs Today, Tilt Parenting, and SPEDNET.
